About Us

Welcome to P2P – Private and Public Sector Services Ltd

Thank you for visiting our site. By being here, you’ve already taken the first important step toward discovering a trusted partner in asset and facilities management.

I began my career in the private automotive manufacturing sector as a Lean Specialist and operational leader. This role evolved into leading high-performing, lean manufacturing facilities across the UK. In 2010, amidst a national recession, I was headhunted to join a major facilities management company undergoing rapid expansion. Making the transition from manufacturing to FM was, at the time, a daunting career shift - but one driven by purpose.

Imagine being a Sheffield born and bred lad who ran manufacturing plants, transforming raw steel into thousands of precision-engineered car components. Then imagine swapping that world - one of high-output systems and industry scale - for what I then perceived as a world of mops and buckets. At the time, it felt like a step into the unknown. But what I’ve come to realise is that it wasn’t - it was a step into a different kind of complexity, where the challenge lies not in manufacturing machinery, but in people, process, and creating environments that truly work. Despite the contrast, both worlds share a single guiding principle: delivering safe, high-quality, and efficient services to those who rely on them.

My objective in transitioning to the facilities management sector was to embed Lean Principles into its operational framework. I brought with me a deep-rooted expertise in zero harm tolerance, operational efficiency, “right first time” methodology, just-in-time delivery, employee engagement, supplier development, and sound financial and commercial governance.

Applying these principles within FM has been one of the most professionally and personally fulfilling chapters of my career. Within just three years, I was entrusted with a PFI contract facing significant operational and financial challenges. Through focused leadership and strategic transformation, that contract was reshaped within twelve months into a benchmark delivery model - setting the standard for best practice across the company’s Education FM Sector.

Over the past 25 years, I’ve had the privilege of leading diverse teams across both private and public sectors. Throughout my career, I’ve consistently driven improvement through data-informed performance strategies, implemented robust quality management systems to embed and sustain benefits, and ensured operational, commercial, and financial governance at every turn. My experience spans the mobilisation of complex contracts - including the rapid deployment of 415 Covid-19 testing facilities, as well as the successful demobilisation of manufacturing and FM operations using structured risk analysis frameworks. Each milestone marked a progression not just in scale, but in the depth of strategic impact. It’s been a journey of continuous evolution, and the trajectory has only been upward.

In both Senior and Executive Director roles, i’ve consistently taken pride in leading with integrity and fostering strong, collaborative relationships. My leadership journey has been defined by building trusted connections across a wide spectrum of stakeholders - including internal teams, peers, Project Companies, Local Authorities, NHS Trusts, Automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and a broad network of valued supply chain partners.

Navigating complex vertical interface agreements has presented its share of challenges, yet it remains a facet of my career I’ve genuinely valued. Through these experiences, I’ve come to appreciate that costly dispute resolution can often be avoided when strong, trust-based relationships are in place - anchored by shared objectives and supported by clearly documented, mutually agreed paths forward. And even when consensus proves elusive, those trusted relationships help temper emotion, allowing all parties to reach clarity and resolution through focused, objective dialogue.

P2P specialises in asset and facilities management, bringing extensive experience across a broad spectrum of sectors and operational levels—from Executive Committee strategy to front-line service delivery. Our core values are rooted in building trusted, partnership-style relationships and delivering consistently on the promises we make.

Built on decades of deep sector expertise, P2P is redefining expectations in asset and facilities consultancy. Unlike many traditional providers, we actively challenge conventional approaches - particularly in the critical post-PFI landscape - by offering proactive, hands-on solutions grounded in operational experience.

We recognise the growing concerns within Local Authorities regarding asset management following the expiry of PFI concessions, especially when Project Co and FM Co personnel are no longer in place. While the Infrastructure and Projects Authority has published comprehensive guidance to support public sector bodies through this transition, execution still requires practical leadership and trusted delivery.

That’s where P2P steps in.

Our ambition is to become a strategic partner in the PFI handback process, providing Contracting Authorities with:

  • Fully costed asset management proposals
  • Forecast lifecycle planning
  • Delivery and oversight of specialist project works

All of this is professionally managed by P2P - allowing building occupants to stay focused on their mission, while we take care of the rest. In challenging the status quo, we’re not just offering consultancy - we’re offering clarity, continuity, and confidence. And yes, perhaps the next chapter adding to the already established guiding principles........
